1986 - Trainee at Schlumberger, Great Yarmouth (UK). Laboratory research in offshore oil well logging using electrical, chemical and radioactive probes. Operational field practice onboard a North Sea platform. 1991 - Experimental work on electric propulsion testing at Centrospazio, Consorzio Pisa Ricerche. 1993 - Program Manager, Centrospazio. Electric Propulsion Section. Coordination of research activities, contract monitoring, budgeting and planning for the FEEP thruster programme, including design, manufacture, computational analysis and experimental test of subsystems. Scientific responsible for several ESA (European Space Agency) and ASI (Italian Space Agency) research contracts, in collaboration with DASA, JPL, ONERA, etc. Member of the Galileo Galilei - GG scientific team. Contributed to the drag-free propulsion system study of the LISA and OMEGA proposed spacecraft. Responsible of the FEEP in-orbit test to be flown in 2000 on a ESA-NASA Get Away Special canister onboard the Space Shuttle. Member of the technical coordination group for the ODIE technology demonstration spacecraft. |
